High School Math Teacher: Evangelical Christian School

POSITION OVERVIEW
Evangelical Christian School is seeking a Christ-centered, passionate High School Math Teacher to join our High School faculty. This teacher will provide instruction in Advanced Algebra and Trigonometry as well as Calculus, guiding students toward strong conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and confidence in mathematical reasoning. This role may also include working with students who need additional support in mathematics through small group instruction, schedule permitting.

The ideal candidate will foster logical thinking, perseverance in problem-solving, and disciplined study habits while intentionally integrating a Christian worldview into classroom instruction and culture. In addition to academic instruction, this teacher will invest in students’ spiritual formation through daily discipleship and mentorship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mathematics Instruction:

  • Teach Advanced Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus with an emphasis on conceptual understanding and procedural accuracy
  • Develop students’ skills in problem-solving, logical reasoning, and mathematical communication
  • Prepare students for college-level mathematics through clear instruction, structured practice, and cumulative review
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and support student growth
  • Use a variety of formative and summative assessments to evaluate understanding and guide instruction
  • Collaborate with high school and math department colleagues to align curriculum and instructional practices

Discipleship & Student Mentorship:

  • Lead a small D Group (Discipleship Group) of approximately ten students that meets daily, supporting spiritual growth and character development
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students, offering guidance, .encouragement, and accountability
  • Model Christian character and integrity both inside and outside the classroom
  • Pray for and with students, helping them connect disciplined learning with faith and perseverance

Classroom Culture & Communication:

  • Foster a structured, respectful, and engaging learning environment
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with parents and guardians
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth
  • Maintain accurate and timely grading and reporting in PowerSchool

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
  • High school teaching experience preferred
  • Strong background in advanced high school mathematics, including Calculus
  • A clear commitment to Christian education and alignment with ECS’s mission and Statement of Faith
  • Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a heart for mentoring high school students
