TAIS Event Policies

In-Person: Attendee Cancellation Policy

  1. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to taistn@tais.com at least six (6) weeks prior to the event date to be eligible for a full refund. All refunds are subject to a 15% administrative fee.
  2. Cancellations received within four (4) weeks of the event are nonrefundable due to planning commitments (space, materials, and meals).
  3. No-shows for in-person events are nonrefundable.
  4. However, substitutions from the same school/organization are welcome at no cost; please email tais@taistn.com with the substitute’s name, role, dietary restrictions (if any), and e-mail.
    1. Submit substitutions at least two (2) weeks in advance to receive a personalized name tag and printed schedule; late substitutions may not have these on-site.

    2. Substitutions submitted after the deadline should bring a work name badge and be prepared to attend open sessions or follow the original registrant’s session selections.

Virtual: Attendee Cancellation Policy

  1. Virtual events are nonrefundable when a recording is provided for later viewing. Prepaid virtual packages, series, and cohort registrations are nonrefundable, as speakers prepare materials and learning experiences with the registered attendees in mind.

Inclement Weather Policy

  1. Participant safety guides all weather-related decisions. If inclement weather impacts an event, TAIS may delay the start time, adjust the schedule, change locations, shift to a virtual format, or reschedule. Updates will be posted on the event page and emailed to registered attendees.
  2. If an in-person event is canceled due to inclement weather, TAIS will reschedule the event and registrations will automatically roll over to the new date. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, a credit for a future TAIS event or refund will be offered.
  3. All refunds are subject to a 15% administrative fee.

Professional Development Records and Certificates

Beginning in 2026 and beyond, professional development records and certificates will be stored in the Member Compass™. Access will remain available for documentation needs, including licensure verification, when applicable.

It is the responsibility of each attendee—and their school—to ensure registration is completed correctly and that the appropriate email address is used at sign-up in order to access certificates. Certificates will no longer be emailed individually.

Accessibility and Accommodations

Reasonable accommodations are available upon request. Accommodation requests (including dietary needs) should be submitted two weeks prior to the event date.

Photo, Video, and Recording

Event photography or video may occur for association communications. Attendance may constitute consent to appear in these materials. A request to opt out can be shared with tais@taistn.com at check-in.

Code of Conduct

A respectful, professional environment is expected. Harassment or disruptive behavior is not permitted. Removal from the event may occur at TAIS discretion without refund.

Liability

Participation is voluntary. Attendees assume responsibility for personal travel and safety. TAIS is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
