Barbara began her career in education in 1991, serving as an Upper School world language teacher, advisor, coach, and department chair before becoming Academic Dean, where she oversaw Kâ12 curriculum and professional development. She joined ISM in 2011 as a consultant specializing in faculty culture, employee evaluation and growth, brain-based pedagogy, strategic academic planning, leadership, and governance. While continuing her consulting work, she took on increasing leadership responsibilities at ISM, first as Director of Research and later as Executive Director of Organizational Culture and Learning. In 2024, Barbara left ISM to serve in two interim headships, first in South Carolina and then in Oregon, and recently returned to ISM as a Senior Consultant.
